The girls have arrived!

Recommended Posts

Finally, after ten months of attending the local bee club, courses, saving (and spending) I have finally got my bees and installed them on my allotment!

They are still in their nuc for a day or two to settle down before I transfer them into their permanent hive and I'll have to feed them syrup for a while but they're here at long last!

I am a very happy bunny!

Congratulations Tara. It really is a most fascinating hobby. :D

I also wish I'd done it when I first thought of it many moons ago.

A bit like chickens really. I wish I'd had them earlier too. Oh and the houserabbit.

Now what else can I get into much later than I would wish?:lol::lol:

Congratulations!

I'm a month in and, despite various levels of anxiety, all seems to be going well - "my" bees seem very calm and tolerant. Not sure they're really mine, I suspect they're doing their own thing and putting up with me really!

Feeding them here too, if Sainsbury's are monitoring my Nectar card they'll be wondering what on earth is going on with sugar purchases - not something I normally buy much of! Must check out the bulk deal from my bee keeping club.
