Chuckyegg
Hi I have recently (3 weeks ago)got 3 new hens to add to my flock. The new girls are 2x Orpington and 1x Jersey Giant they are about 18 wks. The problem is they just wont go up into the coop (cube) to roost at night they just roost underneath the cube. They seem to have settled in- my existing hens still chase them a bit but not much now. I have tried night after night to put them into the coop via the stairs and theywill go in and stay all night even though the pop hole is open but thay wont go in of their own accord. I have introduced chickens before and even raised chicks and introduced them and they got the hang of it after one night!..Any suggestions? Plum
Difficult, what about putting something in the way so they can't get under the cube at night.
Egluntyne
Maybe they need a leg up? Why not put something at the base of the ladder to give them something to access the lowest rung from.
