HI one of my chickens has lost all its feathers underneath here and the skin where they came out is bright red any ideas what it could be thanks.

This is quite common.

 

Could be a moult or some sort of external parasite. Have you checked her over for signs of mites or lice?

 

The skin does go bright red when exposed to sunlight, and can look rather alarming.

Ive got the same problem and having had a check over all the girls I cant see any signs of mites. It does looka bit alarming but they all seem happy and I am pretty sure its a moult I hope yours are the same Jamesw x

If you are really worried you could always try spraying them with an anti pecking spray - not so much because there may be pecking going on but because I think it contains mild antiseptic and so may be soothing for the hen.
