quickcluck
I was wondering.... I have 3 12week old bantams in an ark in the big WIR. They are very happy there and come out for 10 mins a day heavily supervised for run about. We've suffered some losses lately I am wondering if i got 2 young hybrids whether they could live in a sectioned off part of the WIR with the bantams? At the Banties are bonded would they be able to bully 2 young hybrids? Any suggestions? K
Patricia W
I see you have Pekins - so yes, they could bully! A bonded trio is hard to break into so you'd need patience, but yes,it could be done over time. You'll need to separate them though and introduce them to each other gradually Tricia
quickcluck
Hmmm I wondered if they would be more equal as all being young and similar size....
Patricia W
You could try - but be prepared with separate accommodation. I have just painlessly introduced two 12 week Aracaunas to an adult Poland who was being bullied by the flock. That has worked because they were all the same size and all went into a new ( to them) eglu so no-one was top chook and defending territory. But it took me 9 months to introduce 2 new ones to a bonded trio of Polands - and one was a cockerel who should have sorted it all out!
