Garden hoovers, any experience?

Recommended Posts

I am fed up with bits of straw, aubiose, broken pegs etc littering my lawn and I was thinking it would be great if I could hoover them up. I have started to look on Amazon at leaf blower/suckers, but they are quite expensive, I just wondered if anyone had ever used one of these. Thank you. :)

We got a leaf blower/sucker thing, which sucked up leaves and sort of crushed them. I can't remember the make, but it was bright orange. We used it a few times, then the novelty wore off, we got bored and we couldn't even get the kids to use it!

It sat in the shed for a few years, then I gave it away on Freecycle last summer.

That's an idea, I could look on there! :D

I am not sure how it would deal with the bits of plastic peg. I am terrible for leaving them on the line and the weather causes them to snap. There are so many bits it would take ages to pick them up! What with the chickens, boys playing football and the enormous paddling pool my OH bought our lawn has taken a really battering this year!

Sounds just like our back lawn over the past few years!

We tried the blower thing on the front lawn cos we have a huge sycamore tree. It coped with the leaves - but then another lot fell... and as I said - everyone got bored!

Definitely the sort of thing its worth looking out for on freecycle.
