I would seriously consider saving for the eglu initially - you'll see lots of people on here have upgraded to an eglu eventually so to spend the money on a wooden house initially, in my opinion is a false economy.

You can get wooden houses cheaply, but I'd say you get what you pay for and the cheap ones should really be avoided as they will not last. (They tend to be cheap imports made of very cheap thin wood) If you were to buy anything worthy in wood you would be getting towards the price of an eglu anyway. Could you possibly make your own?

Have you considered second hand or reconditioned eglu? Although they remain relatively highly priced it shows they have a resale value. I doubt a wooden house, unless extrememly well made reputable one has much second hand value. I know omlet currently has some reconditioned ones.

Someone else may be along soon to point you in the direction of a good wooden one. Personally I can't recommend eglu enough... its worth the wait
