Pah, I think the peeps might all be boys :(

Recommended Posts

After the initial feather sexing, the consensus seemed to be that I had two girls and one frizzled boy. Well, now at 3 weeks it seems likely that the lavender isn't a girl as thought :( . It's also possible that both of the other chicks are males, too. Just bad luck, I guess :? Still, I have enjoyed the hatching process, have learned a lot and am about to learn even more about rehoming cockerels :wink: Pics on blog if anyone's interested :)

Lol Griffin! Pekins are supposed to be easy to sex, but I think that only applies if you have a mixture of the sexes to compare with  Otherwise they all just look like...chicks  I've had some pekins at 6 weeks old that are female but have a lot of head gear. My 'pure' colour girls seem to have more face furniture than my 'fancy' types. I'll just have to wait and see :?

My first hatch are 6 pekins and they are now 5 weeks, i have 3 boys and 3 girls, they have been pretty easy to sex as the boys combs grew sooooo quickly. and the girls look quite fat due to the feathering i think! Hope you have luck finding homes for them xxx
