Smart Feeder - Light sensor values

Hi all

 

Poppy, my Cream Legbar is pecking small feathers from some of the other birds and eating them. It is not to an extent that it is effecting the coats of the others and they hardly seem to notice when she does it. Is it a problem? Is it healthy to eat feathers and should I be doing anything to stop her?

It would be a good idea to spray the pecked hen with anti pecking spray.

 

Sometimes they peck when they are bored, but as she is eating the feathers then I think it could be a sign she is missing something in her diet - can't remember what though. Calcium maybe?

it's supossed to be a lack of protien I think if they eat them

So there you go andymac. Give her a bit of Tuna (or cat food). Thanks SJP - I suppose the calcium thing is when they eat their egg shells.
