Scoobs
I had 4 new girls end of May who were POL (Light sussex, Black rock, Speckled and Warren). All have started to lay except the Warren (well I might have had 2 eggs off her during the whole of this time perhaps). She is considerably smaller than the other brutes and very light, her comb is not as large and more light red. When we got them she was the biggest and top chicken but they seem to have overtaken her. I have recently wormed them all and treated them all for lice as I noticed she had more than the others, though it wasn't a huge infestation. These seem to have gone now but she isn't laying and is so much smaller and lighter though she is inquisitive, eats and drinks with the others and is the first to dive out of the WIR when the door is open. Anything else I can do to start to build her up or just wait and see and let nature take it's course and she will start to lay in her own time? Christian
She might be a late developer or the smaller of her hatch? You could try feeding her up with slightly higher protein, rinsed tuna, extra meal worms etc and see if she puts on some weight?
