Dizzy-Deb
I am not sure if can mention the name, but sure everyone can guess, as its national leading company. Went in tonight to pick up some supplies for my other pets, and had a mooch around... came across ... food, louse powder, red mite powder, grit, water containers... etc etc. I never knew they sold these things, be real handy for when I need to get stocks. Olly
If you mean Pets At Home, yes they've been selling chicken stuff for a while, which is probably testament to the huge number of people who now keep chickens in their gardens.
Patricia W
Some stores sell chickens as well. But much of it is more expensive than a local feed store or the internet. And they do vary - my local one has very few useful products. Tricia
bennett
it's usefull if you run out of anything especially when i live in a urban area with no country stores however i think that this is just another fad that people will go through and unfortunatly as i have found out this week, it is a novelty for some and it soon wears off leaving us "commited chook keepers" to re home un wanted birds ;( Sorry rant over! SJChick
Hi Be careful and watch out for overpricing though - at the weekend we went to our local saddlery shop because they sell dog food and poultry feeds as well as equestrian items and I got a small back of chicken food for £2.99. After that we went to a huge country wide garden centre chain and the same bag of feed was £4.79!!
WildeWoman
Hi Dizzy Deb, you're not too far from me and we get a really good deal from Sandy Acre Feeds in Saredon, inbetween the A460 and the A449. They sell everything there - horse feed, hay, duck food etc. and do large bags of organic chook food (15/20kg ish) for around £8.00. If you need the details, let me know and I'll pass them on... AmberSky
i agree about the overpricing but its handy for emergency's and things that have a hefty postage for example i picked up a bag of oyster shell for £2.99 and the weight of the bag would have been a lot to post.
