Mumbles Chick
I have been looking after a friend's chickens for nearly 2 weeks, and noticed about five days ago that one of them was not eating much and there was hardly any poo in her pen. I decided to bring her back to my house so that I could keep an eye on her. I gave her a bath and found her rear end was badly caked in poo and what she was producing was very runny and green. She seems to have an endless thirst and is now eating a little more than before. I am feeding her Garvo layers pellets and oats with bio-yoghurt. She is pooing more, but it is still a very greeny colour and quite runny. My friend told me she wormed her girls before she went away, but I wonder if the chicken in question didnt get enough medication to kill off parasites in her stomach. She is still laying and seems chirpy. Any ideas, please?
Plum
If your friend is not back soon I guess you need to take action. So options are a trip to vet, send a sample to the lab for testing for parasites or infection or try some home remedies like Herban. Do you know what her preferences are or can you contact her. I would go to vet it would be hard for you if you lost her.
