Bexibex
I have four ex-batt girls and want to keep them as happy and healthy as possible. At the moment I am adding a rescue potion to their water (it says on the label it is a must for ex-batts) and cider vinegar. To their food I am adding poulty spice and garlic powder and I'm about to order some Bokashi from Omlet. They are also currently on their 7 day worming treatment at the mo which is also added to their food. Am I overdoing it? I really don't want to make them poorly but at the same time, want them to be as healthy and as happy as possible. What do you think? Should I continue as I am? Should I get the bokashi? Should I vary the days they get certain things? Any help greatly appreciated!
Egluntyne
I would say that it is best to give one supplement at a time, and to ring the changes every week or so. I also leave them for an occasional week with no supplements at all.
Lavenders_Blue
I have 4 ex batts and have never given them supplements. They have the ex batts crumb which has added goodies and then they are wormed, but I have never fed them tonics/bokashi/poultry spice and they are very happy and healthy girls. I would agree that one supplement at a time is plenty.
chicken bark
I don't have ex-bats but I can see why you'd want to give them everything. I give my hens some ACV in their water for a few days every few weeks. I've never given them anything else as have assumed their food and free ranging life would give them all the nutrients they need. I'd ease off a bit - you may find they actually prefer the taste of food/water without other stuff put in it. It sounds as though you are really trying to give them the best.
