It's my first time at hatching duck eggs in the incubator and two of them are pipping!

I hope we get a late summer so that your ducklings won't be going out straight into winter! (- it feels like late Autumn here already )

Still lots of chirping and pecking, but no ducklings yet!

They will be indoors for a couple of weeks, I bought a wonderful large rabbit cage off Ebay, which the chicks are testing at the moment, however, their new home has a kennel type of heater and a large covered run, which they can stay in for a while, unless of course we have an Indian Summer

Hoping to have ducklings to post photos of soon, nature just won't be hurried!

All six hatched, which is brilliant, but as I only wanted two, i'm now fretting about finding homes for the other four, just no pleasing some!

I hope some kind people might offer a couple of homes, i'm wary of advertisng ftgh, as I would hate someone to take them just because they are free and then regret it.

How early can you sex them? I know nothing about Appleyards. (Or any ducks really for that matter - I'm waiting for mine to arrive! )

No, the forum does not allow rehoming advertisements. I have space to keep them until they are ready for new homes, it's just the concern of finding the right homes for them.

No - I'm not brave enough for that - yet!

I've ordered a duck house and got my name down for some ducks. So as soon as the house arrives I should be able to get them. But it is a bank holiday weekend so I suppose delivery could take longer. I get impatient about these things.

Just got back from a weekend away and the duck house has arrived!

 

So now I need to check it over and will give the breeder a call tomorrow.

Hello

I am the very chuffed to bits owner of two of wibbles ducks! They are absolutely gorgeous and we love them to bits

I will try and attach a photo of them both. They are called Maisy and Daisy, however Maisy is starting to get a bluey tinge to her beak and we think that she may be a drake, which is ok with us! However her name will be changed to Lazy so that he still comes to us when we call him
