Omlet cube and run

Hi guys!

I have just been on holiday to france (got back today), and about halfway through (10 days ago) I got a phone call from my chicken sitter to say I have now got two chicks! Hilda has been broody since my other two chooks died so my mum gave her some eggs to sit on, donated from our friend with a cockeral. So I have now got Molly and Bella! It was such a shock to get home and suddenly have two chicks! They are very cute and I will put photos up soon

Just a couple of questions,

Do I need a heat lamp for them? (I have access to one should i need it)

How do I know if they are boys?

Congratulations!

If you post a few pictures when they are about 3 weeks we could guess the sex.

Effy didn't have a heat lamp and is fine with her four light Sussex chicks, they were hatched in July.

So I have now got Molly and Bella!

Congratulations !

No they should not need a lamp as long as the mum is keeping them warm ...

And as mollie said post some pictures when they are a bit older and we should be able to give them a sex ...

But its not always accurate - They change ...

I had a silver laced wyandotte who acted like a boy and had a massive comb but now like a month later he acts like a hen and has a tiny comb
