Sooo much pooping

our WIR is up; OH is working on the roof; but I have had a thought... he was going to make me 2 quail pens to go inside the WIR (roughly 6' x 4' and appropriate height) but it occurs to me that the girls will poo on the quail!!!

I quite like the idea of 2 pens, to house 2 colonies of quail (6 in each), and the idea was they would be easy to move around inside the WIR. but would I be better with a double decker approach, so that one lot was on top of the other lot, with floor/roof in between?

What about a solid roof to the pens so you can protect them and clean them. Some pvc sheeting would work. I have used this one and was able to cut it with scissors.

that's a good idea, or just simply clear tarps - was getting over-complicated I think!!!
