Noisy chick is driving me nuts.

Recommended Posts

I posted the other day to say that one of my Hubbards had hatched. As it was the only one to hatch, I quickly brought in another chick (orpington) as company. The orp is three days older (currently 6 days).

The orp will not shut up! It cheeps constantly - and it's loud.

The temperture is correct in the brooder and there is enough room for them to disappear down one end if they want to get away from the heat.

The hubbard cheeps occassionally but is not constant like this noisy orp. Any ideas on what I can do to shut it up? Do you think that being irritating points to this one being a boy?

My baby Orps are really quiet, I don't know they're there. It's the Polands that drive me to drink with their constant cheeping! They're all with broodies, not under a lamp. When I did rear chicks inside I noticed they were noisy if they wanted attention, just like babies really  They'd soon learn that I'm a tough mummy and they'll get attention when I'm ready to give it
