Bark attack!!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just wanted to make you all aware of a horrid incident with a tree stump last night :|:|

Chooks were going mad as a cat was in the garden, and after going out a few times to shut them up,

decided to ignore them. It was only 7.30pm so wouldnt annoy the neighbours.

Was washing the kitchen floor when the Bok Boking changed tone ( bit like you know when a baby's cry changes tone)

Daughter and I both rushed out and Lavender was lying upside down with her leg bent backwards stuck in a split in the trunk of an old tree they use to perch on. The hot weather had caused a split/gash in the wood.

Never thought of the danger, we picked her off the ground and daughter managed to prise leg free from trunk, lavender just layed in my arms shaken, thought the leg was broken, but after much shouting from OH about NOT going to the vet :evil:

We put her to the ground and she walked/limped around, couldnt see any damage, so put them all to bed, and lockedthe Eglu door , she slept in the nest box all night, I didnt sleep, got up this morning at 5am, sure she would be dead...No she toddles down the ramp and proceeded to eat the sun flower in the pot. :D:D

Sorry for long chat, but must be vigil to all the danger around what I though was a safe WIR.

Glad she's ok...what a scare!!!

Tell you OH he has no say in it...it is a legal requirement that no animal be allowed to suffer and that prompt veterinary attention must be given where necessary - so what would he rather? £20 vet bill (Probably less if it's just a check over) or a hefty fine (maximum penalty is 51 weeks imprisonment and/or up to £20,000 fine!!!)

...Oh, and of course the expensive, lengthy divorce/separation because you've realised what a cruel, heartless ______, he is!!

A trip to the Vet would suddenly seem like a bargain!!
