I posted a question a couple of days ago asking if my young hens will lay larger eggs as although they are not bantams, far from it they are now bigger than my last remaining ex-batt who still lays the biggest most beautiful eggs ever even at her age! I have looked on the forum but my posting has disappeared. Could anyone please let me know. The eggs they lay are very tiny indeed. I raised these hens from week old chicks. It is very easy to do. I used a hamster tank (not cage as the tank has a fully enclosed clear plastic lid with a barred lid so eliminates all draughts) and a dull emitter for heat, but raising chicks is another story!
