craftyhunnypie
This will be my last hatch of this year. I'm putting 6 of my own frizzle/pekin eggs in the incy. I so desperately am trying for another red frizzle. But whatever we get will be beautiful. I've no broodies when I need them, so the incy it is. I quite like raising the chicks in the brooder, as I find they become tamer, through being handled. Roll on incubators in the bedroom, brooder in the other room & when too messy - the shed. Got to keep the frizzle gene going. Hoping to get 6 by tomorrow. Emma.x
Griffin
I set my new toy yesterday, an Rcom 20, with 12 bantam & 12 LF eggs. 6 of the bantams are yours 6 are Silkies and the 12 LF are blue/green egg laying mongrels I was chuffed to have managed to squeeze all 24 in with auto turn still functioning I've re-arranged work so that I'm off in three weeks time and I expect I'll be glued next to the incy with the kids. Visability is excellent and was the main reason I chose the Rcom because Emily was desperate to hatch in an incy again. Good luck with yours! Mine that are going in tonight are exactly the same as urs ( pekin/frizzles), so we can share hatching news. I desperately need a new candler - must buy one of those egg lume things with a scope. Good luck. Emma.x

craftyhunnypie
I can pray for you, but mother nature makes cockerels too! I need to get an ova scope candler now - as my ever faithful l.e.d torch has finally had it. I like the ova scope, I've seen one in action & was amazed at how clearly you could see what was going on in the eggs. You like the names of my 'special' breeds then? Good luck. I must see the pics Try the pound shop. May sound funny, but I bought a little pocket LED torch from there, and I can candal in daylight its so bright! Doesn't give off any heat either. Love it. Takes me seconds to see whats going on in the egg

craftyhunnypie
This time next week I ( or the incy) stops turning. I love watching the eggs wobble & responding to my whistling. 5 little frizzle / pekins hopefully. I hope they all manage to get out. craftyhunnypie
I've seen 2 of the 5 eggs wobbling gently - it's day 14 at about 4.30pm. Getting very impatient & excited now. I wonder what colours & frizzle percentage I'll get this time? Emma.x
Blue-DiamondChick07
Wobbles on day 14?? they're keen I'm on day 17, I may have to go stare at the inncy
craftyhunnypie
I know, I'm a bit surprised at wobbles on day 14, but considering I stop turning on Thursday, they can't be far off fully formed - just a case of getting in position for hatch & absorbing the yolk I suppose soon. These are friizle / pekin bantams. I've had them pip on stop turning night & hatch the following day early hours! I've also had some that took 22 - 23 days. You just never know. I've also had explosive hatches, where they have literally exploded out of the shells shortly after pipping. That was very very funny & the reason we called Bingo the cockerel Bingo. It was either that or Kaboom! I found this http://www.thepoultrysite.com/articles/241/small-flock-series-incubation-of-poultry this is what is happening, they are getting into position!
