pregnancy and flubenvet

Recommended Posts

Hi

I've just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant :D and will be worming my chooks soon as they are coming for four months now since they were last done. I know there is no egg withdrawel with flubenvet but I'm sure I read somewhere that if you're pregnant then it's best to avoid the eggs but I'm not sure how long for if any length of time? Has anyone been in this situation before please?

Any advice very much appreciated! :D

Congratulations! There is nothing in the data sheets that say that there is any issue with Flubenvet and pregnancy. However, I would check with the manufacturers. I would suspect that no specific testing has been carried out in humans ( I doubt many pregnant women would volunteer for testing) and so I would suspect that they will err of the side of caution and advise you not to eat the eggs for a short while.

edited to add: Of course be careful if you need to administer it by wearing gloves and ensuring that you don't inhale any powder.

Congratulations!! :D I don't know the answer I'm afraid but would agree with the advice above, if in doubt avoid the eggs for a little while. I'm also pregnant and although I have no immediate plans to worm my ladies in the near future I'm pleased you asked the question just in case they need a dose of flubenvet in the next few months and I need to decide whether to avoid the eggs or not :D

I'm not liking the avoid runny eggs advice at the moment mind you, I love boiled egg and soilders and miss it!!:lol:
