daxigirl
I do believe that Paxo could be about to grace me with her 1st egg. She keeps going in the house and staying there for several minutes before coming back out and she's been sitting in the next box as the straw is all squashed down. She's also been quite shouty this morning rather than bokboking. I'm so eggcited (couldn't help myself) and will check again when I get home from work tonight. Thought I'd share this news with someone as I think they're fed up of chicken this and chicken that at work.

Calamity Jane
Snap!! I am in the same situation - keep on looking but nothing yet. My family thing i am bonkers, have spent an absolute fortune on the only chickens in the world that dont lay eggs !!
daxigirl
Still empty nest boxed. Told them to hurry up and earn their keep as I've got a new KitchenAid food mixer and cake book which seems to need 4 eggs for every recipe and I'm fed up of buying eggs. Also said that their not called Paxo and Sunday Roast for nothing.

Calamity Jane
I feel a bit like an over due mum in pregnancy ! The first question anyone asks me is "any eggs yet?" I cant even tell them when they are due!
daxigirl
Me too. I'm beginning to think that I've got barren hens! They've still got me running out to see what they're shouting about, little minxes. I'm wondering if I'll get anything apart from poop out of them. daxigirl
I'm thinking of trying the Richard Briars method of egg encouragement from the Good Life, anyone got a gun? Failing that what about a dose of cod liver oil?
daxigirl
Really scared the girls this morning and showed them a 15 space egg box.
sari
teehee. I'm in the same boat...although only eggspecting 1 to lay atm. the others are still a bit young....but the Leghorn has a lovely red wattle/comb...like an Elvis floppy quiff and bright orange eyes...so am expecting her to start soon. She's not called Florence and the Egg Laying Machine for nothing too...! Keep goign out and making encouraging noises....suppose its only 3 weeks...still needs to settle in!
