Mollie333
I came home from school today (headache! ) to find two egg shells, covered in sawdust, so they have been dragged out the coop. The bantam egg was literally in two halves, with no yolk, but the other one was a broken mess! smashed egg shell all over the place, and yolky sawdust all around. They have mixed grit, and food. What could of took the eggs? What should i do? I have a 2 foot peace of wood around the mesh at the bottom, and medium gauged wire, ''Livestock'' wire, the holes go up in size. I wouldn't like to think it was Rats.. we have a very lot of squirrels around here. Thanks
sparkysmum
Mollie, I don't know whether your run is covered or not but we discovered last week that crows & magpies were stealing our pekin eggs . We're fighting a seemingly losing battle - can't cover the entire run as it's 25 metres x 3 metres.
Mollie333
That is huge! Ours isn't covered, but is 6m x 6m so pretty expensive.
