Smart Feeder - Light sensor values

Seems like our New Hamp Red has laid her first egg today - given that she's started crouching overnight and the Sussex still won't let me near her, I'm guessing it's not the Sussex. Anyway, there's a small smear of blood on the shell. I've checked vents etc and can see no sign of injury. Is there anything else I should check or is this common for a first-time layer?

A bit of blood goes a very long way on an egg. Probably roptured a minor blood vessel due to over stretching. If she is fine in herself, I wouldn't worry too much about her. Just keep an eye on her.
