tinwheeler
I have an eglu cube with 9 hens. 3 of them have taken to sleeping on the roof rather than inside. Any advice on why and what to do about it as it's starting to get cold at night...
Samuel Morse
A friends hens started doing this recently. They had a bout of red mite so I don't know if that was the reason for the reluctance to head into the house. There are a couple of similar threads on chickens sleeping outdoors here somewhere... best of luck
Plum
That's what I was wondering. They are much safer locked up at night and I would lift them in after treating house and checking them over.
tinwheeler
No sign of mites, I clean with a pressure washer once a week. The othe 5 are sleeping inside.
brambles
I have a few roosting areas within my cube run. Currently four girls are sleeping out whilst three are in the cube sleeping area. I reckons they're just dead 'ard!
err_rachael
awh like snoopy. maybe lift them from there when they are drowsy and put them inside? if they continue waking up inside the eglu maybe they will get used to it
