patsylabrador
I feel quite excited by the difference my chickens have made to my relationship with my neighbours. I have taken eggs to them and therefore talked more. One old lady loves the eggs and confided that she believes another neighbour has burgled her home. We have since done much to help her feel safer. We also gave eggs to bad neighbour's parents because they are nice and they seemed so pleased and brought round blackberries from the brambles in their garden. Our new neighbours already love the chickens and brought round a pot of mint and Apple chutney she made from apples in her garden as a thank you for the eggs. Another friend has exchanged strawberries and spuds for fresh eggs. I think it's great that this has happened in such an urban setting and hope that it spreads. I think they break down barriers. Lots of young people in their twenties have checked out the chickens and said how they had never touched a chicken and love it when they fly onto their shoulders. I'm very pleased I have my little ladies.

karena
That is good to hear. I had lots of extra neighbourly chats when I got mine too, as people were all interested.
