Daphne
I don't know anything about roup (never heard of it) but myco is a nasty, common respiratory infection. Bubbly eyes is the best certain indicator, but general symptoms are nasal/eye discharge, coughing, rattly/heavy breathing, all round moping, sometimes lack of appetite. It must be treated with antibiotics, tylan is preferred to baytril. The fastest acting tylan for severe cases is by injection, otherwise use a syringe - some vets prescribe a soluble version, but I don't like that as you never know if the bird has had its dose. It can be contagious, so as you've lost a bird to it you must watch the rest very closely and get them treated as well if they show symptoms. It can be triggered by stress (eg moving, changing diet, coming into lay) and can be transmitted via the egg so affected birds should not be used for breeding. It can also recur. This is one illness, which if your birds have it, should always be treated with antibiotics.
Blue-DiamondChick07
They have all those symptoms, I have at least 3 infected birds. I have soluble anti B's at the moment, best get in touch with a vet thanks for the advice

Blue-DiamondChick07
It wasn't the free one, but still one of hers yeah. She has offered me a couple of red silkies to make up for it, but not sure I'm going to take on anymore birds for awhile. I'm stressing as I have chicks I can't afford to pay out lots at the Vets either

Blue-DiamondChick07
Ouch!! Sorry about that. I'm going to be more careful myself now - harsh lesson to learn.
Egluntyne
A hard lesson learned. I'd keep them well away from the chicks, and disinfect everything thoroughly when they have recovered, if you plan to merge them with the babies at a later date. I would visit the vet, as the antibiotics you already have may not be appropriate for these chickens ( or am I misunderstanding?) I'd also give this breeder a wide berth in future. Roup is Infectious Coryza.
