Chicken bald back

My husband bought me a Kindle for my birthday. It arrived yesterday and I've downloaded about half a dozen books.

 

Last night it started to play up - I could select the book and the title would appear but no page to read below. I thought it was low on charge so charged it up over night but no change this morning.

 

We're trying to restore it to factory settings with little luck. Well to be honest we can't find HOW to do it. We've gone back to settings as it says but can't find any option to restore them.

 

Wondering if it's back to Amazon with it if it's a dud, or if it's just new user ignorance on my side.

 

Anyone else had problems like this?

Ah, it was me being a techno-numpty and not understanding the instructions. Ignore me; hubby came to the resue (and it did make me feel better that it took him a few attempts!).

 

Think I'll really like the kindle - once I have it back from my son who is lying in bed reading Horrid Henry!

oooh you got me worried there. I have just started to use my new kindle ( bought on recommendation from everyone on here!). I LOVE it. I can foresee a lot of reading and not a lot of jobs being done in the near future.
