Smart Feeder - Light sensor values

our chickens tahlula and piplin (as namerd by our 3yr old) have been with us for 2 weeks now. I know this is not long and not unusual to not have eggs yet BUT we had 1 egg for 4 days running as soon as they arrived and now none for 1 week.What am I doing wrong?why has piplin stopped laying?could she have been put off by me moving their eglu after 4 days?

Hello and welcome to the forum . Sometimes they take a while to get into the swing of things so I wouldn't worry too much just yet .

 

One of mine laid 10 tiny eggs in October soon after she arrived then stopped until February - not that I'm suggesting that'll happen to you .

Thank you for your encouragement and do hope we are not waiting THAT long!Does the cold weather effect them?

Hybrids should lay all through the winter. Mine laid even when there was a foot of snow on top of their eglu .

Mine haven't started yet....had them 6 weeks! I've been told not to expect any eggs untiil the days start to lengthen again...as they aren't already laying, they might not start....

We got our girls as growers in march ( 6 weeks old) and have lovingly cared for them as they have matured into big girls now..however still 1of the 3 hasn't started to lay yet!!

 

hopefully you won't have to wait too long & our Flo will finally get round to it!!
