UPDATE so sad looks like pip will have to be put to sleep

Recommended Posts

pip has had her crop pumped last week and xray and they could'net find anything looks like the grit had been causing the impacted crop so for the last week have had to take her grit away, and now she has gone off her legs :( she eats but sitting down and her tail is right down when she wlks she struggles so i rushed to the vets this morning as hubby was at work and the vet said it doesnt look good at all she gave her a an injection for pain and said take her home see how she goes for the day and we have a appointment for tonight when my hubby gets back as he really wants to be there i am so sad she picked up really well and has gone down so quick, i just can't stop crying :( and i am worried how our other chucks will react as have the big two in their own run and then have pip and daisy together, as the big ones can pick on daisy and she pulls their feathers, i am so worried that daisy is going to pine for her :(

i will let you all know how we get on

got this morning dreading what we might find opened the coop and pip shot out for her food :D she is alot brighter running for greens! and her crop was perfect and in the night she did her first normal poop in weeks

we spoke to the vets and explained as we think being ill with her crop and taking all the medcines has took it out of her as she wouldnet eat the baby food after she had her crop she went very fussy. So we gave her a few pellets and she scoffed them so fingers crossed
