Cambridge chiks
I just want to thank you all for the super advice. After 3 nights in the broody cage Geraldine is back with us again, scratching and behaving normally! It seems to be the only fool proof method of curing broodiness- although it feels rather cruel, it's better than having a broody bird for 6 months! Hoorah! Treekeeper
You lucky person! Mines still broody and squashed! She was in the broody and all the other chooks thought what a good idea lets sit on the lid of the broody cage and pushed it in so poor pepper was like a spatchcock chicken! She regained her composure after a bit of free ranging and legged it into the cube before I could get her back in the broody cage. Oh well I'll see if she's still blown up tomorrow. migsy
How long can they remain broody? One of mine is being a right pain!
goodinparts
Broody Brigid is really messing me about....She was broody on Sunday, normal (and even laid) yesterday but went back into puffle mode yesterday pm and has stayed like that today. I guess it's time for the sin bin tomorrow as I don't want the chicken sitters to have to deal with her broodiness while we're away next week. Hope it warms up a wee bit. I'll feel really mean incarcerating her if it's still this chilly...
