Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

I currently have 14 hens...

 

I have 3 perches...I noticed the night before last that 7 of my girls were on the top perch (1st time ever)...on the middle perch were 5 girls and just 2 on the bottom perch. Usually the config is 5, 4, 4...do you think they are snuggling up because it is getting cold (I am sure this is a really stupid question ) it was the first really cold night we have had the night I discovered 7 on the top perch.

 

I was thinking about getting between 2 and 4 new girls so they can snuggle up in the winter. There is room for 6 girls to fit comfortably on each perch.

 

Is this a feasible arguement for getting more girls?
