beach chick
we've had a really busy w/e in the garden and field. I was out all day yesterday, cutting down dead perennials etc, plus we had 2 guys here all day doing strimming, clearing, lighting bonfire etc etc. this morning, things were quieter - just me pottering about near the chicken run about 10am. saw a shape out the corner of my eye - and bold as brass, a fox trotted across the field, skimmed round the edge of the electric fence, jumped over/through a hedge/fence, and scaled another obstacle to trot up the road at the end. I could hear people talking to each other "omigod, look at that!" "he's just walking along" "they attack children dont they" etc etc (not many fox lovers round here). I could not believe how calm and confident he was, he took no notice of me and was clearly on a well-trodden path and knew exactly where he wanted to be. shut the girls in the WIR and went straight out to buy another battery for the leccy fence so we have one permanently on charge now!! we've lived here nearly 12 years and that's only the 4th or 5th fox I've actually seen. so always be vigilant!! Plum
Must have been quite a sight. I saw one recently strolling down the middle of the road but luckily half a mile from me but it's quite a reminder to be vigilant. Glad you were out there watching them.
