LauraJ
Hello, my 18 month old Weimaraner has really cracked pads and they seem a bit sore, does anyone know a good remedy for poorly paws?! I have been putting a bit of E45 cream on them but that seems to be very tasty! Thank you!
Bramble
Hello! Try Shaws Paw Wax, lots of petshops sell it and lots of places have it on line, you can use it as a treatment but also to prevent paw problems. Good luck!
Chucky Mama
Paw wax is good and there is an oral supplement called 'Complederm' that is good for dogs prone to cracked paws.
lillybettybabs
Yep good paw wax is good but try and find out what is causing it. Floor cleaner or diet are common causes.
LauraJ
Hi, thank you for all your help, I will try some paw wax and see if it helps - if it doesnt get better then I will pop him down to the vet. He has just had a load of blood tests at the vet and they were all normal so not too worried for that side of things. Thanks again!
jennydavies
You can also get a product online called Padsanol, it's what they use on Greyhounds that get sore paw pads. They do a Yellow Padsanol which is medicated and promotes rapid healing. I used to get it from www.greyhoundandwhippetshop.co.uk as far as I know they still do it. It's in the Health/Hygiene section. Lesley
Jazz had this problem when she was young and as well as the paw wax we started her on homeopathic tablets from Dorwest - she takes graphites and sulphur. She also had a bald patch on her chest - tests showed she was allergic to grass pollen and the tablets along with a hay fever remedy have cleared up both the bald patch and the cracked paws. LauraJ
Oh no.... I thought it was just happening because he comes in from the cold and lies right in front of our woodburner. Will pop him to the vet and see what they say. Thanks everyone!!
