catherinedon Posted November 23, 2010 Share Posted November 23, 2010 when does this happen? 3 of my girls I got last Aug and they had a a small loss of feathers but not much. The hatchery said they had moulted. They very quickly looked full of feathers as they do now. They have never layed a single egg yet and are about 28 weeks. Plum Posted November 23, 2010 Share Posted November 23, 2010 As they grow they lose feathers and regrow them or they could have had a few pecked out at breeders. They often don't moult properly the first winter so expect lots of feathers in the run next winter. Having said that Grackle is 2 1/2 but never really moulted.
