Just been reading in the Radio Times that 'Toast' the fabulous book by Nigel Slater,about his early years,has been adapted for TV for the Christmas period

 

Make sure you all watch it - I am sure it will be as brilliant as the adaptation of 'My Family & Other Animals' a couple of years ago.

Helena Bonham Carter is playing Nigels mum

 

Looking forward to the remake of 'Upstairs Downstair's too, which should fill the Downton sized hole in my schedule!

I saw that too...I really enjoyed the book, and love HBC, she's a true english eccentric! One to watch......when I was little, my sister and I would go through the Radio and TV Times with a felt tip and asterisk all the films and progs we wanted to watch over Christmas.....sad huh??

I wish I had Sky+, but they want too much for a box....I don't watch a huge amount of telly, and the things I want to watch are on too late....

Who is playing Nigel Slater? (I'm assuming he isn't appearing as himself). Thanks, this is definitely one I wouldn't want to miss.

 

And er, what's wrong with going through the Radio Times and marking everything? I only buy a Radio Times at Christmas.
