Have I made a mistake * Pecking issues

Recommended Posts

I posted about my chickens pecking at my cochins feet a couple of days ago and got some good advice.I have taken her out the wir but kept her in view of the others and sprayed her feet with the purple spary they have healed really quite well. I have been putting her in the coup with the others after dark and taking her out in the morning. She really has perked up so i thought id see what happened when i put her in with the others. They attacked her strigght away pecking at her purple feathed feet so much i went and got her out before they drew blood again. I am off to the shop to get some anti peck spray and give her a good spray with that to see if it will stop the pecking.

Do any of you mix cochins or bramas or other feather feeted birds with x breeds ( i have 2 x sussex xs and 2x bluebells) witrh out problems or is it not advised to mix the breeds.

Is there one leader who starts the pecking? If so, try isolating the bully, rather than the one being bullied. I

f you can keep the bully separate for 2-3 days, she'll go down the pecking order and it should settle down. It'll also work if there are a couple of them.

As for ant-peck spray, Ukadex is the only one I've found that works- but be warned,it stinks!
