dog caught Clover

Recommended Posts

This morning our spaniel got into the chicken run without us realising (someone accidently left the gate open ) and caught Clover our elderly speckledy.Clearly she didn't move as quick as the others. To be honest he didn't bite her more played with her and dragged her around. At first we thought she had died however after a few minutes she sat up and looked around :) however she has lost quite a few feathers ,no blood as far as we can see and is clearly very shocked and traumatised :( .Given the weather we were worried about her getting cold so have brought her inside in the pet carrier ,and left her in a quiet spot. She is very subdued ,what should we do next :?:On the one hand I want to keep her in on the other I know maybe she should be back with the other girls.

She will be shocked and traumatised and as a result her circulation won't be as good as it should be so you ar right to keep her in the warm, quiet and dark for a few hours. If she perks up, pop her back out later if you are around to keep a close eye on her. If she remains fluffed up and quite, I would keep her in.
