meezers
Five of my girls had a lie in this morning - Dandelion was crowing non stop and I think he was telling them it was time to get up - 9.30am and they were still in the coop In fairness to them there is about 3 inches of snow on the roof of their WIR, so it's pretty dark in there, maybe they didn't realise the time . In an effort to shut Dandelion up I went out balancing on a chair and used a broom to sweep them some 'skylights', I then opened the coop and physically turfed the 5 chooks out, they weren't impressed, but at least there is a little more light in there now. The things I do for my chooks.
Daphne
I tried physically turfing a chicken out yesterday as she hadn't been out for 3 days. Cue much hilarity, particularly when a mass of black squawking feathers raced round the coop evading capture. When I did eventually get her and put her outside she just turned round and ran back in between my legs! Today, having cleared the snow and put the food enticingly just beyond her reach she did venture out (tho to start with she kept one foot in the house and sort of balanced half in half out ) and after one mouthful of food she started eating the snow
coco
I was out at 7.15 this morning brushing the snow out of the WIr as iot hasn't got a roof yet. Girls were impressed, it was like a bunch of little old ladies saying 'you go out first, no you go'. Fizz the frizzle stuck her head out first, I think she was going to get a shove from behind so she could go out and see what it was like.
