soapdragon Posted December 31, 2010 Share Posted December 31, 2010 We love our girls dearly and its a joy to look out and see them scratching around doing chickeny things but, my goodness, has the garden suffered!!?? We had cleared several areas ready to plant in Spring but now are worried about what we can put in that the girls won't destroy (anything small, seedlings etc are out as they just eat any small shoots!) Our soil is heavy and clay and semi shaded, We like cottage garden type plants but don't have much money to spend. Our herbs in pots have all been nibbled (chives down to the bare earth!) and we have had to put our thyme up on a stack of plant pots so the girls can't reach! We don't know very much about plants but would like to fill the garden out a bit more; Any suggestions from devoted owners/gardeners very much appreciated!
