My chickens live in a WIR and very rarely come out. I don't use anything to keep the run clean other than picking up pooh and turning the earth over occasionally. I am worried that they are reinfecting themselves constantly with worms and that I should be using something. What do you suggest I use?

My WIR has an earth middle surrounded by slabs. I put hemcore or aubiose down, & change it about every 6 weeks or so. I don't really poo pick as it seems to disappear

 

Each time I clean out I put some garden lime down to neutralise the acidity, & some Columbine Bianco ( some people use Stalosan F) to help disinfect & reduce moisture.

I've heard about stalosan and was thinking of using that, the garden limne too. Is there a good place to purchase?

garden lime can be bought from some garden centres - whatever you do get garden lime not builders lime though!!

 

Stalosan is better bought from a chicken or argricultural supplies place as its heavy and ordering it by mail order makes it very expensive.

 

If you arent sure if you have a suitable place locally if you could give a very rough idea of where you are I am sure someone can recommend somewhere

I think my supplier will be able to get in stalosan and garden lime if I ask them. Thanks very much for your help.
