jos
Hello, I was given two young adorable rabbits for xmas and would like some advice re putting them outside. At the moment they are living indoors but i would like them to enjoy the great out doors at some time. What sort of temperature should it be bfore they can go out? Presumably, to start with, they should come back in at night? Should they be brought back in at the end of the summer or will they be able to spend all winter out having got used to being outside through the summer? They are a netherland dwarf and a lop eared around 5 months old. Thanks, J
lillybettybabs
I tend to wait until it has go a little warmer and introduce them to grass very slowly.
Sageandonion
Hello. I have never had house bunnys, all my rabbits have always lived in hutches outside. Our latest we got when he was 8 weeks and he went straight into a hutch outside. He has been fine even with all the snow before Xmas, although he does have a heat pad and loads of straw. I would have thought though as yours are used to being inside it would be better to wait until the warmer weather comes before you put them outside - they will acclimatise to it by the winter time.
