emily95
Hi everyone! I'm having a mad hatter's tea party soon, and I need your help to think of some interesting food that we could have. It needs to be a bit unusual and fit for a crazy tea party! I know that you omleteers will have some good ideas Thanks!
Cinnamon
How about Fairy Bread? Its an Aussie thing - my friend introduced me to it,& they all have it for their children's birthday parties. Its so simple - cut the crusts off some bread, butter it,sprinkle on hundreds & thousands, then use shaped cutters to press out shapes or cut into triangles. bluekarin
Not sure what age group you are catering to. My ED had a mad hatters tea party a few years ago for her 8th birthday party. I made a teapot shaped cake (basically a normal sponge, but shaped it so it was domed and then covered it in pink butter-cream and cut our card spout and handle and used dolly mixtures to make up a lid handle and decorate around the edges) I put labels on drink bottle saying drink me and biscuits saying eat me. We had jam tarts, scones with the jam and cream served in tea cups. I wanted tea cups for the drinks, but couldn't find any in the charity shops, so I got some glasses from Cargo which were dead cheap and had little hearts of them. I decorated by putting cheap cards around the place and I stuck the suit shapes onto thin bamboo and put them either side of the path for the guests to walk past.
