Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

hi i have a bit of a rat problem at the moment this rat has managed to get in the run and steal food i have blocked all his holes up and put some bricks down but the holes still appear i have also noticed 2 holes under the compost bin wich i block up but they also reappear the compost bin has a plastic base and i think that is where the nest is but i dont know if they are under the base or have they chewed through the plastic and live inside the bin i could use the hosepipe and put water in the bin but i am thinking of tipping the bin over putting a concrete base down and then refill the bin any ideas please

I think if I had a rat issue I'd be looking at traps/exterminators. If there's one, there's more

I've had the same problem - they lived in the compost bin in my case

 

I put poison bait boxes down about two months back, its taken ages to get the population down but its done the trick

 

Be careful with siting bait boxes though
