bluekarin
I am thinking of trying my hand at some lino printing. I last did some at college many moons ago and really liked it. I saw an article in that b-e-a-u-tiful mag Home about making gift tags and paper and would like to do some cards. Any one done some recently and know where to get some of the tools needed? freddie
I have the kit!! it's my next project when I've cleared some of my UFO'S.try ario.co.uk. I got a basic kit from london graphic supplies, and the fancier bits from ario. I'll let you know how I get on, next week is half term, so i get time off work,.....!! bluekarin
Thank you! I shall look forward to hearing how you got on. The bit that worries me is at college we had a large press to do the prints, but at home I wouldn't have that, just how hard I could press manually. freddie
where are you? i've found a lady who has a printing press, and loads of experience, and is willing to do a class for 2/3 of us!!!!! dont suppose it'll be free, but will be reasonable. She's lovely too! I'll find out more tomorrow!
bluekarin
I'm in Wiltshire, so a bit far away which is a shame. You'll have to tell me what you do on it when (and if) you go
PurpleTree
I did lino printing for my A Levels (12 years ago ), really enjoyed it I buy my glass painting stuff from Artifolk, just did a search on there for Lino printing and they have a few bits http://www.artifolk.co.uk/shop.aspx?search=lino%20printing In school we just pressed down our lino cuts by hand and they seemed to come out ok. I vaguely remember using the roller and rolling out the ink on a tile thing, then putting it on the lino. Actually thinking about it not sure if we then laid the paper on top of the lino and used a clean roller to press it on. Does that make sense? Anyway good luck
