Hi all,

We built our newly-delivered Cube last weekend, and this weekend we've had a chance to look at all the little things we weren't sure about when we built it. I was wondering how these experiences matched up with other peoples'.

When we put the brackets on to attach the sides to the base, the rear bracket on the left-hand side was a perfect fit. The bracket on the right-hand side however required us to push the side out by about 5mm. This has resulted in there being a larger gap between the side and the back panel on one side than the other. This gap is almost large enough for me to stick my fingers through. Measuring the parts, and the distance between the screw holes reveals that they are symmetric, but the fit of the panels isn't, so perhaps the panel isn't quite formed straight on one side.

In the same vein, the gap on both sides at the bracket is larger at the bottom than at the top. It's not excessive (at least not on the left-hand side), but it looks like the metal bracket is holding the side panel out at the bottom, rather than pulling it in. I know that draughts shouldn't be a huge problem, as the Cube needs ventilation, but it just doesn't sit right with me.

Finally, we've had trouble getting the lid to slide smoothly, and get the runners adjusted correctly. On the left-hand side there doesn't appear to be a happy medium for the height of the runner. It's catching slightly on the plastic underside of the lid (and s"Ooops, word censored!"ing a groove in it), but if I move the runner any lower it catches the lid bracket, or is too low to engage.

So my general thought is what tolerances are the panels built to? They should all be the same size and shape in the mould, but I wonder if they shrink and twist as they cool.

And my question to other Cube owners is how do you find the general fit of the panels? Are the gaps even, and do the brackets fit nicely without having the flex the panels?

TIA.
