Half term activities for families The Napoleonic Surgeon Tuesday 29th May 2007, 12.00 and 14.00 Join Mr Mick Crumplin FRCS, Honorary Curator of the Historical Surgical Instrument Collections who will appear as a surgeon working in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries during the Napoleonic Wars. He will describe and demonstrate some of the operations performed on the battlefield, at sea and in civilian life, at a time when hygiene was poor and pain relief unheard of.
