To lay or not to lay

Recommended Posts

Do some hens just never lay eggs?

I ask because Betty never has. She has a permanent limp and I've always wondered if that was a sign of something more serious that may have happened before I got her whetherit was in the egg or after.

Is there any hope of her ever laying?

I'm sure I have seen postings from people that have had to wait much longer than that. Perhaps it is something to do with the breed. Most of us have hybrids that are bred to lay lots of eggs but pure breeds are different?

I know I am not much help but didn't want you to think we were ignoring you!

Hopefully now you have bumped this back up someone with more knowledge than I will see it.
