For our school chicks I need the safest brooder set up possible. Some homemade brooders seem to have bulbs and wires etc. Can any of you advise me of the safest set up? Many thanks.

I'd go for an indoor rabbit cage with an electric hen

 

I've seen nasty burns caused by bulbs

 

The electric hens are very warm underneath but not too hot on the top

 

The only problem with using one is that the chicks will vanish under it and the children wont see as much of them
