gongladosh
I misread the title at first - thought it said "b*oody frizzle" Anyway, we had similar with a light susex bantam last week. We did this (after reading some of Egluntyne's advice) and it was very effective: - if the hen's in with others, separate it so it has its own eglu/place to sleep (we were lucky as we have a spare eglu) - put some bricks on the nest so she can't sleep on it - keep it like this for 3 days and 3 nights it worked a treat. From what I understand, it's all about getting the body temperature down to normal levels - their temperature goes up when broody, so taking it down again stops the broodiness. We started getting eggs again 4 days after putting the bricks on the nest.

Hey that's an excellent piece of info. I did notice that my broody Silkies have been super warm when I slipped a hand under to check for eggs. It explains some of the things that people have advised that I thought might be a bit unkind.
Space Chick
I have a cage I put them in for 3 days and 3 night, sounds cruel but I think it's the kindest thing in the long run
quickcluck
I have a medium dog cage which I put upside down so the tray is at the top, that way the others can't poop on them! It's on bricks, and they stay they for 3 days/nights. If it's really cold, i cover with a blanket over night!
