ElvisFan
We are going on holiday soon with a group, there will be 9 off us and we are sharing the food buying, naturally we have been charged with bringing the eggs, so if I get my girls on over time we will get two a day How long will they keep for, will they keep longer in the fridge, I think we are going to need about 30 to 35 eggs so the older ones will be a little over 2 weeks old ? Ours never make it to that old age!
Sammiboo
http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2008:163:0006:0023:EN:PDF Defra say 28 days two weeks would be plenty. i would make them so you know which to eat first
LuckyChickenLover-
I agree with Samiboo - write the date the egg was laid on it with pencil so that you know what order to eat them. You can check an egg for freshness by putting it in a tub of water. If it floats, don't eat it.
Space Chick
I read that Eggs don't tend to end up on supermarket shelves until they are typically 9 days old, so I wouldn't worry at all
